4. The Underground Railroad  The Underground Railroad was a bunch of routes and passages to get to Canada  It happened between 1830-1860  Slaves used it to come to Canada and find freedom Underground Railroad (info)

5. The Life of a Slave  The life of a slave was hard  they got tortured and were forced to work  sometimes children were sold away from there parents  While they where walking they would have to wear metal things around their neck

6. The Difficult Journey  They had to walk far  some times people would help them by providing them with supplie s  if they got caught they would be beat up or killed  they used code names

7. Harriet Tubman  Harriet Tubman was a hero  she rescued hundreds of slaves  she lead them through the Underground Railroad  in 19 trips she rescued 300 slaves

The Big Question  The slaves came to Canada and brought knowledge and books /journals with them  they stood up for their rights and proved slavery was wrong  they had a huge part in putting an end to slavery  Do you think that if you were a slave you could make it to Canada?
