Science behind it – Indicates motion of sound created or modified with the aid of water – Cups for notes of lower octave are large while those for notes of higher octaves are smaller in size. – Pitch is changed by adjusting the volume of water in the cup. More water – air vibrates faster & hence higher pitch Empty Vessels make more noise?

shiksha. samskara. sansara SOME WATER FACTS Water is the only natural substance that is found in all three physical states—liquid, solid, and gas—at the temperatures normally found on Earth. Water is unusual in that the solid form, ice, is less dense than the liquid form, which is why ice floats. Water is called the "universal solvent" because it dissolves more substances than any other liquid. The water molecule is highly cohesive—it is very sticky. Water is the most cohesive among the non- metallic liquids. Pure water, which you won't ever find in the natural environment, does not conduct electricity. Water becomes a conductor once it starts dissolving substances around it. Water has a high specific heat index—it absorbs a lot of heat before it begins to get hot. This is why water is valuable to industries and in your car's radiator as a coolant Water has a very high surface tension. In other words, water is sticky and elastic, and tends to clump together in drops rather than spread out in a thin film. Surface tension is responsible for capillary action, which allows water (and its dissolved substances) to move through the roots of plants and through the tiny blood vessels in our bodies. The density of water means that sound moves through it long distances (ask a whale!). In sea water at 30°C, sound has a velocity of 1,545 meters per second (about 3,500 miles per hour).

The Water in You You can survive for over a month without food, but only up to a week without water, depending on the conditions. 66% of your body is water. Over 70% of all your vital organs constitute water, including the brain, heart and lungs Even bones have about 31 % of water! You must consume about 3 liters of water in a day to maintain good health. By the time you feel thirsty, your body would have lost only one percent of its total water content. Drinking enough water can reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer, because it helps flush out toxins!

shiksha. samskara. sansara Salt makes ice melt differently. It will melt ice at much cooler temperatures, and so wherever the salt touched the ice it would melt faster than the rest of the ice. The color is beautiful on its own, but the real reason for adding the liquid water colors is to highlight the ravines, crevasses, and tunnels that are forming in the ice as the salt melts it.
