Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday College Goal Sunday is a program designed to assist students and families with completing the primary financial aid application, the FAFSA College Goal Sunday events are funded nationwide through grants from the Lumina Foundation College Goal Sunday events are currently held in 32 states with 4 additional states (including Louisiana) coming onboard in 2008

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday College Goal Sunday is a FREE event designed to help Louisiana college-bound students and their families with the financial aid application process Financial Aid professionals will be on hand to help complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) A particular focus of College Goal Sunday is on helping low-income, first-generation college student families through the process

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday Louisiana College Goal Sunday is co- sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Financial Aid Administrators (LASFAA) and the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) in conjunction with the Louisiana GEAR-UP and TRIO programs

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday College Goal Sunday is open to all college-bound students regardless of age. Whether a traditional student right out of high school or an adult who is returning or pursuing higher education for the first time, College Goal Sunday will assist all prospective students in the completion of the FAFSA form Dependent students (those under 24) should bring a parent or legal guardian

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday Students and parents should bring completed IRS 1040 tax forms, W-2 forms and other income and asset information Even if taxes have not been completed, students and families can estimate their information and make corrections at a later time

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday The College Goal Sunday program needs volunteers from all areas of the community. It is not limited to college administrators. Volunteers can include: High School students (Trailblazers) and administrators High School counselors College and University administrators Civic groups Federal and State agencies College Access programs Private Business

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday All volunteers will be fully trained Each site coordinator will convene a meeting with all volunteers Some meetings will be by telephone and others may be in person, especially as the event day approaches

Trailblazer Camp 2007 Louisiana College Goal Sunday Trailblazer Volunteer Duties Greet Attendees Work Registration Desk Give Directions from Parking Areas Make and Place Signs Distribute Snacks Answer General Questions Assist With Computer Usage Site Set-Up and Clean-Up Assist With/Entertain younger Children Distribute FAFSAs/Worksheets Deliver Messages Assist Speakers/Tutors
