The southern flying squirrel is usually found in hammocks or swamps in Florida. It is also found in the trees. It is found in South Florida.

The southern flying mouse mostly eats nuts and leaves. The Southern Flying Squirrel Eats nuts, acorns, seeds, berries, fungi, lichens, birds, nestling and eggs, some insects, vertebrates, including Carrion, and moths.

People think they can fly but they don’t they glide. They are the only nocturnal tree squirrels. It stays in its nest during extreme cold weather. They gnaw on bark and drink they sap. They store lots and lots of nut for the winter.
