What is Single Point Setup?
Leverage clustering to simplify multi-AP deployment & configuration APs on the same subnet dynamically share wireless configuration information Enables a single view of the WLAN No wireless controller required! All access points share: Wireless network identifier (SSID) Security features User names and passwords Traffic (QoS) priorities Radio settings Coordinated roaming Captive Portal (select models) Clustering is a method of synchronizing between different Aps in the same premise. In a business of any size, you would want to share the same SSID (network identifier) all across the premise. The AP541 is very easily set to synchronize between multiple Aps on the network, so if a parameter changes, all Aps are synchronized between according to the changes made. Again, this is different than a controller-based architecture, in where the Aps are “dumb”, but a central controller manages their settings. With clustering you get a single view of the whole WLAN as if you were working with 1 AP. There is nothing special about security in clustering. What clustering is about is making it easy to configure stuff. Rather than having to configure a new VLAN or new set of credentials on 10 different Aps, you configure it on one and that one AP copies it to all the others in the network. They will also distribute authentication data around.

Single Point Setup - ADVANTAGES
Available on both WAP121 & WAP321 with no additional costs, simply a firmware upgrade. Easy to sell business-class WLAN solution into the SMB segment Multi-AP deployment and management with no controller to purchase Increased profitability by minimizing deployment time and repetitive maintenance tasks Scale the WLAN as customer capacity requirements change and evolve Great for combined data, voice, & video solutions.
