Geography is the study of earth’s landscapes, people, places and environments. It is, quite simply, about the world in which we live.

What is geography? Study of the earth and everything around it. What people do to the earth. How human activity affects us and the earth.

Archaeologist and Anthropologist Study the origin, development and behaviour of humans. They examine the cultures, languages, archaeological remains and physical characteristics of people in various parts of the world. King Richard III remains recently found in a car park in Leicester.

Environmentalist Someone that works to protect the environment. Try to change the harmful things humans do – engine efficiency, saving power, recycling and renewable energy.

Environmental Scientist How and why the world is changing nationally and globally. Analyse samples of air, water and other substances to identify and assess threats to people and the environment (air and water born diseases – typhoid, cholera). Clean up polluted areas.

Seismologist Scientific study of earthquakes and their effects such as tsunamis and volcano eruptions.
