“Experts worry that students might be spending more time sifting through information than actually applying and utilizing information.” Some say the amount of information easily available to teachers and students can be overwhelming. What can be done about information overload? How can teachers help students avoid this?

Digital Media Applications: Oregon Trail Civil War Simulation Critics argue that the use of digital media applications lack the insight and detail of a traditional textbook. Supporters claim that, by being immersed in these DMA, students gain a better understanding of the subject being taught. What place do digital media applications have in learning history? Why? What are the advantages and disadvantages of digital media applications compared with traditional textbooks?
