Pay back Jesus’ story 1. 1.Son asks 2. 2.Father gives son the inheritance 3. 3.Son wastes money 4. 4.Father’s welcome a. His longing b. Re-instates as son c. Great celebration

Coming home to God – Part 1 1.Created to be at home with God Gen.1,2 show us God creating a wonderful world where we:- a. Know & enjoy God and one another b. Work with God

2. Choosing to leave home a.Gen.3 – Adam & Eve:- - had an amazing life trusting/obeying God - want to live their own life – leave home b. Israel - life in the land pf promise – trusting/obeying God - decide to go their own way – as if God was dead. They are exiled to Babylon

3. The struggles away from home Freedom – being what we were meant to be Younger son enslaved by:- 1.His desires & passions 2.Pressure of friends 3.People who took advantage of him 4.Circumstances

3. Struggles away from home As humans we struggle with many things:- a.Our bodies disease, age and die b.Our relationships end c.Our work can have frustrations d.We have wrong desires & behaviour

4. Coming back home to God 2 things needed:- a.Coming to our senses b.God wanting us back. The bible shows:- 1. God working to get us home – Gen.12f 2. Jesus coming to look for us 3. God welcoming us extravagantly:- a. Forgiveness b. Making us honoured children c. Preparing a great feast – Rev.19,21,22

5. Have you come home? a.Have you come to your senses? b.Have you received God’s extravagant gifts? c.Are you enjoying being at home? d.Are you concerned for those who are away from home?
