Senior/Encore committee activities The Encore Committee conducts various educational sessions at LEAGUE, ICMA, CSMFO and GFOA annual conferences. Based on the experience of other encore managers we have developed a series of guidelines for managers considering interim, educational and consulting work. The committee conducts an “Encore, Encore!” workshop at the culmination of the City Managers Dept conferences The committee writes articles on subjects of interest to senior/encore managers such the Ethics of Interim Management (since many Encore managers do interim work) We provide peer coaching for those making the transition into their encore phase. Peer coaches are featured on the Cal-ICMA website, as well as other resources such as books, articles and websites

Peer coaches are featured on the Cal- ICMA website, as well as other resources such as books, articles and websites Members of the Senior Manager/Encore Manager Committee are also available to speak at Area Manager Group meetings about creating more work-life balance in our professional lives. Finally, members of our Committee are available to facilitate an informal meeting in your region for those approaching retirement to order to explore options, discuss resources and share the experiences of others who have already made the transition
