2 of 11 Customizing Forms Chapter 16 starts Part 4 of the book: Advanced Sage 50 Complete Accounting 2013 Applications. You have used many different kinds of forms: invoices, statements, checks, etc. There may be times when you want to create your own form or customize one of the formats that come with Sage 50. You can customize forms with Sage 50’s forms designer.

3 of 11 What is a form? pp. 613-615 A form in Sage 50 is a document that you exchange with customers, vendors, or employees. The forms that come with Sage 50 include checks, tax forms, invoices, statements, mailing labels, quotes, and collection letters. Read pages 613-615.

4 of 11 Sage 50 Tips Sage 50 Tips The file restored in Chapter 16 is Exercise 6-2.ptb. This file was backed up in Chapter 6 on textbook page 202, and is used for Chapter 16’s illustrations. You use the sample company, Bellwether Garden Supply, to complete Chapter 16. You can restore any backup from Chapters 1 – 7. If you do not have a backup of Bellwether Garden Supply, install the starting data for the sample company by restoring the bgs.ptb file. Detailed steps for restoring the bgs.ptb file are on pages 23-25, Chapter 1. The Save As window on textbook page 621 shows the Filename location for the practice form on Windows 7 computers—C:\Sage\Peachtree\Company\Forms\ INV00000.FRM. If you are using Windows Vista or XP, refer to File Management, textbook pages xviii-xx.

Customizing a Form, pp. 617-621 You have several options available for customizing forms. On the left side of the window are design tools: Select, Add, Delete, Line Up, Resize. You can also design forms from task windows; for example, Sales/Invoicing, Payments, Payroll Entry. 6 of 11
