Health Care Needs The California Community College Chancellor's Office and it's Economic and Workforce Development Program has established the California Community College Health Care Initiative and the Regional Consortia to provide education and training programs to meet these emerging demands for health care delivery.

8. BACCC Serves as a regional framework: –to enhance the coordination of regional programs –to increase collaboration on regional priorities –to serve as a link between colleges Career Technical Education programs, Economic and Workforce Development Initiatives, and the Chancellor's Office

Expansion of the Medicaid population, plus Health Insurance Exchanges means an increase in those with mental/behavioral health needs that will be brought into the system Need to better integrate care between behavioral health & primary care Increased need for: –licensed staff –unlicensed and/or peer staff –Expanded role of navigators, coaches, promotores, etc. Mental/Behavioral Health 19

Proposal to Consortium Next Step Convene local community college mental/behavioral health program leaders/educators and mental/behavioral health employer stakeholders to discuss interests and challenges related to curriculum, employment opportunities, and the future needs for an expanded peer workforce related to the ACA.
