8. Introduction of PSA An institution may not introduce a visiting PSA at an event that is open to the general public or the media. Bylaw 13.10.5

9. Photograph of PSA An institution may take a picture of a prospect during a campus visit to be used in the institution’s permissible publicity and promotional activities (e.g., press release, media guide). Bylaw 13.10.6

16. The Basics Tryouts permissible beginning June 15 immediately preceding the PSA’s junior year in high school. May only occur on campus or at a site where the institution normally conducts practice or competition. Bylaw 13.11.2.1

17. One Tryout Limitation One tryout per PSA per institution per sport. If adopted, NCAA Division II Proposal No. 2015-4 would permit one tryout while SA is in high school and one tryout after September 1 following high school graduation. Bylaw 13.11.2.1-(a)

18. Timing – High School or Prep School PSA Outside PSA’s high school's or preparatory school's traditional season in the sport. Begins - first official team practice; and Concludes - team's final competition. Bylaw 13.11.2.1-(b)

Example: A basketball prospective student- athlete would be permitted to participate in a basketball tryout after the season has ended even if he is in season for track and field. 23. Institutional Camps and Clinics What is a camp/clinic? An institution’s sports camp or instructional clinic shall be any camp or clinic that is owned or operated by a member institution or an employee of the member institution’s athletics department, either on or off its campus. Bylaw 13.12.1.1 Determining camp/clinic ownership or operator The individual is at least a majority owner (51 percent of the camp or clinic). The individual is personally and directly responsible for the management and operation of the camp or clinic. ~Official Interpretation [Reference: 02/01/90, Item No. 12]

24. Institutional Camps and Clinics Advertising May provide an institutional camp brochure to a prospect at any time. May provide an institutional camp brochure in an electronic format. Bylaw 13.4.1.1.1

Institutional Camps and Clinics Advertising A prospective student-athlete’s photograph may be used in an institution's camp promotion provided the photos are part of an action shot (e.g., candid), there is not focus on one prospective student-athlete and the photos are not staged. Bylaw 13.10.6

29. Institutional Camps and Clinics Admission It is not permissible to provide a prospect with free or reduced admission. Bylaw 12.5.1.5.1 Discounted admission may be provided if based on objective criteria. Example: registration prior to a specific date, online registration, attendance at multiple sessions. ~Staff Interpretation [Reference: 08/27/09, Item No. 1]

30. Institutional Camps and Clinics Employment An institution may employ a prospect that: Has signed an NLI or written offer of admission or financial aid at the institution; or Has not signed an NLI or written offer of admission or financial aid at ANY institution. *Please note that certain conditions apply. Bylaw 13.12.2.1

31. Top 4 Your institution may take a picture of a PSA during a campus visit, but the photo cannot be used until after the PSA has signed an NLI, written offer of admission and/or financial aid. 4

32. Top 4 Once a PSA has signed an NLI, written offer of admission and/or financial aid, your institution is permitted to publicize that PSA’s commitment. There are NO limits on number of press releases. 3

33. Top 4 The first official team practice marks the beginning of a PSA’s high school or preparatory school traditional season in a sport for purposes of the tryout legislation. The conclusion is after the team’s final competition. 2

34. Top 4 Your institution may offer discounted admissions to its camps and clinics based on objective criteria unrelated to athletics abilities provided such discounts are published and available on an equal basis to all who qualify. 1
