Components are often pre-manufactured
Some components have to be hand made e.g- shoulder pads

Component= Sewing threads Function= To hold fabric pieces together, to add fastenings, to add decoration Examples= Cotton, Polyester, Metallic and silk threads

It is a component used for closing products for fit, security, or enhancement. When choosing a fastening you must concider Would it suite? 2- what role does it have on the product? 3- how secure is it? 4- cost 5- Does it need to be invisible 6- Can it be manufactured?

One of the most secure fasteners
Easy to apply to products
There are different types of zips, with different weights; and some are nylon or metal
Some types of zips include
Fixed ended (base of zips)
Open ended (for jackets)
Concealed fastening (invisible)

They are not just used to fasten but also to add decoration
