Habitat They live near coastlines and around islands and in bays. They especially are found in areas with sea grass beds.

Identification Adults are 3.5 to 4 feet in carapace length. The green sea turtle is green and it has a single claw on each flipper. A green sea turtle weighs 300 to 400 pounds.

Food It eats worms, young crustaceans, insects, grasses and algae.

Threats The harm is commercial harvest for eggs and food.

Reproduction They lay eggs every 2 to 3 or more years. At least 115 eggs. It takes about 60 days to hatch.
