Focus: Inquiry based but also Knowledge and Communication

12. Library – Alternative Energy Sources
Focus: Application with Communication.
Activity: Placed in teams of 3 and must choose a model to be the Architect for. They must find the electrical demands for that model and find alternative energy sources that could be used.
Assessment: 50% on Research and 50% on Presentation.

13. Task In groups of 2 or 3 make a Simple Circuit using the following:
One load (buzzer/light)
Wire (at least 3 pieces)
One battery
1 Switch (make it yourself using cardboard and a conductor)
Application: with another group try and modify your circuits to make a larger circuit.
Think of 5 things your circuit could be used for?

Students will have very different backgrounds (6th grade)
You might need to modify some activities (easier/harder) for the various levels.
You can have fun with this unit! (fire in the classroom with a short circuit!)
