4 Browser Compatibility Assessment (BoCA) Next Steps Extending the project to test using Internet Explorer 11 in “Enterprise Mode” by the end of May. What is Enterprise Mode? Enterprise Mode, a compatibility mode that runs on Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 Update and Windows 7 devices, lets websites render using a modified browser configuration that’s designed to emulate Internet Explorer 8, avoiding the common compatibility problems associated with web apps written and tested on older versions of Internet Explorer. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn640687.aspx If the results are positive, a configuration guide update with the correct IE 11 configuration will be posted.

5 Browser Compatibility Assessment (BoCA) Future Support When will ERCOT’s Internet Explorer 8 support end? Most ERCOT applications will operate in native or compatibility mode on Internet Explorer versions 8 through 11. If “Enterprise Mode” testing is successful, those applications will only be supported on Internet Explorer 8 and 11. ERCOT will work with the market to set the end of support date for Internet Explorer 8. Will ERCOT support more browsers? Support for multiple browsers or allowing browser independence will require redesigning the user interfaces for all applications and a capital project to implement that functionality.
