source: USACE, NWS, NPR Missouri River 5 miles north of Bismarck, ND (flood stage is 16 ft, this is 4 feet above that) First time water flowed through the emergency spillway gates at Garrison Dam, Missouri River.

Where we are at now... n Joint Stewardship Agreement signed in late 2010 –ND State Water Commission is NHD Principal State Steward –ND State Health Department is WBD Principal State Steward n Harmonization of Souris Basin, Red River Basin along US-Canada border n EPA-NEIEN Grant for developing WBD/NHD Stewardship website, pilot testing of integration of WBD/NHD high- resolution data in selected basins.

Works n Partnership with Principal State NHD Steward n Communication –Local experts provide accurate drainage information. –State, Federal and International GIS experts providing technical assistance. –Getting the word out about WBD/NHD so industry knows. –Communication with our USGS POC. n WBDEdit Tools –training n NHDEdit Tools –training n Getting it to work “for real” rather than ad hoc. n Getting the word out that the data is available and for folks to start building “value added” products.
