5 Project: Hypothesis The decision of farmers to treat (or not treat ) lame cows is not solely dependent on the economical consequences associated with the veterinary intervention

7 Video clips Clips will be digitized using existing footage Clips will have cows showing lameness (scores 1-5) Instructor & TA’s will take care of the clips

10 Class project The KBS paper can be the background paper for the final paper Check the deadline and instructions in your syllabus

11 Format for the debate Today 04/06/01: Students will be randomly assigned to be in favor or against the following statement –A) Tyson corporation responded to the natural disaster (see video footage and web sites) in Arkansas, last December, using the best available alternatives to minimize pain and suffering to the birds and to the farmers.

12 Format for the debate Today 04/06/01: Students will be randomly assigned to be in favor or against the following statement: –B) In addition, Tyson corporation has taken effective measures to prevent future accidents.
