2  What is texting and driving?  Who is texting while driving?  Why is it an issue?  Who is affected?  What can be done to stop texting and driving……. And so you are going to present examples which cover these objectives regarding texting? This is what I should see within your presentation?

3  Texting= to send a text message from one cell phone to another.  Drive= to operate the mechanism and controls and direct the course of a vehicle. http://www.merriam-webster.com Texting while Driving is when a driver decides to send a text message while operating a vehicle.

9 In the cartoon to the right. The author portrays irony as the way to convey this message. In the cartoon the women in the passenger asks the driver if her saw a video were two teens got killed while texting and driving. And the driver goes on his phone to look which is ironic because they could be in that same situation when there texting and driving. In the cartoon to the left there is a man texting and driving and on the other side of the cartoon there id death laughing. He is laughing because when you text and drive you are almost staring death in the face. What the author wanted us to get from this was that if you text and drive you are playing with death. The analysis needs to be edited. Many errors in writing conventions. 11 This is an ad campaign from ATT&T. In the fine print it says “This was the text message eighteen year old Mariah West was reading as she drove into oncoming traffic. No text is worth dying over.” in this ad the author is being persuasive and adding sympathy to not text and drive. The author makes a legit statement that not test is worth dying over. This ATT&T ad is a new campaign that came out a couple months ago for people to be aware about the danger s of texting and driving and they make it very clear with this ad campaign. 12  A new study reveals that the human brain is capable of processing two tasks at a time.  When faced with two tasks, a part of the brain known as the Medial Prefrontal Cortex divides the tasks into two parts so that one half the brain focuses on a task and the other half focuses on another. 13  Laws have been in place to stop texting and driving. If a driver is caught texting and driving there is usually high consequences such as fees and other harsh realities.  This photo from saferautomobiles.com represents all the states who ban texting, partially ban texting and do not ban texting.  In the state of Arizona there is no ban on texting but one may surface in the near future.

The researchers at Virginia Tech found that drivers involved in a crash while using their phones had typically been staring at their phone for only 5 seconds. 15  In conclusion, texting and driving is dangerous. It is not limited to just teenagers, but even adults are doing it! We have shown you not only pictures but articles that support why texting and driving is dangerous.  Simply, DO NOT DO IT!!
