Reed Switch Motor By Troy Coleman & Colby Cravens
2
Supplies we used 1.Roller blade wheels 2.Two bolts 3.One nut 4.One large reed switch 5.Coil 6.Copper wire 7.Hot Glue 8.Four Magnets 9.Wood
3
How we made it 1.First we attached the wheels to a piece of wood to use as bearings. 2.Next we attached the magnets to the bearings so it would spin 3.Then we added the coils (which are wrapped around a screw) and reed switch (which is glued to a piece of wood) The coils and switch are on opposite ends
4
How it works The reed switch motor works by having magnets spinning freely. On one side is a reed switch, on the other side connected to the reed switch is some coil. The coil/ reed switch are attached to a battery. The reed switch times the revolutions of the magnet and the coil push the magnets up to finish the rotation.
