Greeting: Always address your “thank you,” letter to a specific person. Use conventional “dear” followed by “Mr.” or “Ms.” followed by the first name and/or surname with a colon or comma Ex: Dear Ms. Kristen Cowan: Dear Ms. Kristen Cowan,

Never send a “thank you” letter to a person using his/her job title Ex: Dear Career Counselor: Dear Career Counselor,

Two average length paragraphs should make up this section. In the first paragraph thank the reader for whatever it is you are thanking them for. Perhaps a position you applied for at a job. Convey your enthusiasm and it would be helpful to convey the date of the interview. Mention an interesting topic or rewarding moment. Make a SINGLE “return” between paragraphs CLICK HERE TOCONTINUE

Handwritten thank-yous can sometimes have more meaning especially depending on personality and penmanship, a typed letter can also be appropriate

Edit your “Thank – you” letter carefully. Ask someone you trust to check it over and give you constructive feedback. Look for *Misspelled, repeated, or misused words*

If you decide to hand write your letter, use plain, light – colored stationary – solid white, off white, or gray is best.
