2. The perfect planet… Earth is the only planet in our solar system that can sustain life.

3. Why? Temperature: 61 degrees F Land 30% Water 97% saltwater, 1% fresh water, and 2% frozen water Size: 7,918 miles Atmosphere: 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen

4. Composition The earth has 4 layers Inner core (solid, made of iron and nickel) Outer core (liquid, made of iron and nickel) Mantle (made of rock, thickest layer) Crust (thinnest layer, made mostly of rock)

5. Moon Earth has one moon. It has many craters. Many space missions have been performed there- humans have even walked on the moon!

6. Unique Features Earth is famous for its’ beautiful blue and green color. The blue comes from water- Earth is the only planet with lots of liquid water. The green color comes from the land- Earth has 7 continents (bodies of land). Earth also has a strong atmosphere. From space, you can see clouds covering Earth.

7. Space exploration Space missions are not performed on Earth because this is where we live! Scientists from Earth are constantly exploring other planets with space shuttles, satellites, and probes.
