What to expect… Taking daily notes on focus area Integrating group work, activities, and independent practice to refine skills Nightly homework(3 nights) Unit Projects Quizzes within each chapter Unit Tests – every 4 to 5 weeks

Grading… 90-100: A 80-89: B 70-79: C 60-69: D 59 and below: F Late work will only be accepted for partial credit and only one day late. Absences: Students can use the agenda board, personal agendas and file folders to find missing work. One day for every day absent to make up work, unless they were present when the assignment was given. Textbooks: Students can check out on an individual basis when needed

Grading…. The Four Point Scale 4 – I get it and can teach it to someone 3 – I get it the way the teacher taught it 2 – I understand most of it but need a little help 1 – I understand some of it but need a lot of help

Tips for success! Class Expectations and Consequences Basic class expectations, in addition to Kyrene school rules, are as follows: Respect the people, equipment and furnishings of this classroom and school Be prepared for class with all materials ready and in your seat when the bell rings Stay in your assigned seat or lab area unless you have permission to move around Follow all directions the first time – only use lab materials in the way you have been instructed Allow others to learn without distractions or disruptions Do Your Very Best Work! Possible consequences for not following school and class rules include: Time out Loss of Privileges Parent conference Lunch Detention

Tips for success! Help students stay organized Plan ahead for short and long term assignments – Don’t Procrastinate Schedule time for homework; study Check website for up to date information about what’s going on in the class Keep in touch with any concerns
