Victorian Leisure Many children worked in Victorian times but they still had time to play. Most Victorian children played in the streets. Children used to play tag. They also played musical chairs. Contents

Victorian children in factories Factory owners employed children because they were cheap and didn`t complain. Some girls worked in mills. Contents

Victorian children in coal mines Some children pushed trucks of coal along mile tunnels. Some children started work at 2 in the morning and stayed bellow ground for 18 hours. Contents

Victorian Schools Very few children went to school, most poor children worked. If they went to school, there families lost the money they earned. Contents

Victorian homes Poor people lived in back 2 back houses called Terraced houses. Rich Victorians lived in Villas. Middle class Victorians lived In Terraced houses with gardens front and back. Contents

Victorian Inventions Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. The first cars appeared during the Victorian times, but only rich people could afford them. Bikes became very popular. The penny black stamp was produced in 1840. Contents
