Completely web-based program based solely on State Standards (SOL’s) Focuses specifically on the objectives outlined by the state in an assessment-like environment Collects valuable data for diagnostic reports Essential learning objectives, practice questions, and explanations User Friendly Study Island is used by over 9 million students in 19,000 schools.

4 Target Goals By the next year, 90% of the students in grades K-12 regularly participating in Study Island, will meet minimum proficiency or make progress in reading/language arts and math on state assessment, compared to a comparable group of students who do not participate in Study Island. By the next year, 95% of students in grades K-12 regularly participating in Study Island, will meet minimum proficiency or make progress in social studies/science on the state assessments, compared to a comparable group of students who do not participate in Study Island. 8 How Do Students Start Studying? After signing in on Study Island’s home page, students can click on the subject tab you want them to work on OR They can work from your Class Page on assignments you create for them from the Class Manager feature.

9 Students, Con’t At first log in, students must complete at least 10 questions on the PreTest to unlock the other topics. To pass a topic, students must take at least 10 questions and receive a passing score, as set by their teacher (default is 70%) A blue ribbon is displayed next to the topic once it has been passed. Once students have passed all topics in the section, they have completed the program and may take the PostTest (if applicable)

15 Click “Class Manager” to add and edit classes and assignments. Click on Class Name to Add/Edit Students & Assignments Click here to create a class.
