In addition to the previously mentioned expenses: Renters are usually expected to pay 1 st and last month’s rent at the start Last month’s rent is a security deposit, should any property get damaged during the tenant’s stay, or if the tenant suddenly leaves

Whenever you move into a place, look for problems, such as leaky faucets, stained floors, broken cabinets, bugs, etc. Take pictures of the rental before you move in so you have proof of its state when you moved in
