LEONARDO DA VINCI Nicholas Esquivias Computer Art Period-4 5-5-15 (May 5 th 2015)

HIS LIFE  Born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy.  Was first interested in the laws of science and nature as a kid.  He was raised by his father and his stepmothers.  When he was 14, da Vinci began apprenticing with Verrocchio.  Became very good at art and began to make wonderful pieces such as the “Virgin of the Rocks,” “The Last Supper,” “Leda and the Swan” and “Mona Lisa”. He knew now he wanted to be an artist.  Inspired countless artists around the world and became a master artist.  Unfortunately, he died during the year of 1519.

THE MONA LISA  Leo created this painting of Lisa Gherardini, wife of a cloth merchant named Francesco del Giocondo. He began the painting in 1503 and finished in 1517.

THE LAST SUPPER When Leonardo was forced to work for Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, he made Leo create this particular religious scene of Jesus and the Apostles at the Last Supper painted.

HOMAGE

CONCLUSION  I enjoyed creating this assignment because I was able to learn about the famous painter Leonardo da Vinci. I now know who he was and why he became a painter. I can now tell others about him and what his famous paintings are and what they are all about. He was intelligent in science but later began to work with an artist and that’s when he became so passionate for creating beautiful artworks. The best part was learning about his life and what he went through to become recognized as a master artist. He worked hard for that title and I believed he earned it because he made a great difference, not just for painters, but for religious people who now appreciate his “Mona Lisa” and “The Last Supper” paintings. http://www.history.com/topics/leonardo-da-vinci
