Driving Questions Do excess nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus) affect primary productivity? –Terra-cotta algal samplers (Chl a, AFDM, %C, %N, C:N) How do ‘ōpae ‘ula and other herbivores affect algal production? -Grazer exclusion treatments Is it nitrogen or phosphorus that causes excess algal growth? Both? Are pools nutrient- limited? -Nutrient diffusion media ….Stay tuned.
