COMPANY OVERVIEW ARQUIMEA is a Research Engineering company that provides design and development services. ARQUIMEA is devoted to the design and development of advance components. Our customers are companies demanding efficient solutions to problems that fall outside their standard practice. ARQUIMEA design and development services cover the following areas:
3
ARQUIMEA develops custom sensors from sensor specification up to sensor manufacturing, calibration and installation. The company is specialized in the development of sensors that require to operate while being exposed to high radiation, high temperature, or high magnetic field environment:. ARQUIMEA expertise on sensors design include: CONTACT –LESS POSITION SENSORS CONTACT –LESS TEMPERATURE SENSORS. RADIATION MONITOR SENSOR TORQUE /FORCE SENSOR. IMAGE SENSORS. The company is specialized in all phases of a new sensor development, from sensor specification up to prototype development, calibration and industrialization.
4
ARQUIMEA is specialized in the development of custom actuators and mechanisms based on smart materials technology. “A smart material is capable of recognizing appropriate environmental stimuli, processing the information arising from the stimuli and responding to it in an appropriate manner and time.” (Wallace, G. et al. 2003) ARQUIMEA’s know-how in the use of latest Shape Memory Alloys, Electroactive Polymers, Piezos, or Electrorheological Fluids, allow us to choose the best material for each application. Smart materials based actuators can be embedded inside the structure. Also, by choosing smart materials based actuators, you will reduce the weight, the noise, and the production Cost of your product. Some of our customers: NASA-JPL (Jet propulsion Lab.) INTA (Instituto Nacional de Tecnica Aeroespacial) CDTI (Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico Industrial)

Dust Wiper project. NASA-JPL. Mars Science Laboratory – REMS Instrument. SMA based Rotary Actuator for Dust wiper mechanism. (2006), Robust technology ! (in the way to Mars !)
6
ARQUIMEA develops custom microchips (Digital, Mixed Signals, MEMS) for commercial, industrial, military, or aerospace avionics applications. Combined with our expertise in sensors and actuators, We can proved complete Microsystems. The company is specialized in full hardware development, from architecture definition up to prototype development and qualification under customer requirements. Due to a strategic alliance with CNM-CSIC (Centro Nacional de Microelectrónica), the largest public research instituition in Spain, We gain access to the latest tools and facilities for Microdevices design and testing. We can also work as a consulting partner suggesting technologies and solutions during a new product definition. Some of our coustomers: INTA (Instituto Nacional de técnica Aeroespacial)
