Environmental and Social Safeguards Information Simple environmental and social screening in an “Yes/No” format for possible environmental impacts related to proposed project investments

Mitigation Measures Activities performed by Contractors during the construction phase to prevent and minimize possible negative impacts on the environment and people Waste management; soil water and air pollution; cultural resources; traffic safety; natural habitats; worker’s safety

Monitoring Plan Measurements of specific parameters taken based on agreed schedule (including frequency, location, responsibility) Related to the proposed mitigation measures Applicable during the preparation, construction and operation phases Approximate costs for monitoring activities Clear description of institutional responsibility

EMP Checklist Supervision Focus on: Actions needed in case of project changes – review of mitigation measures; institutional assignments; baseline studies to address mitigation changes Adoption of mitigation measures Implementation of monitoring plan and clauses provided in contracts and bidding documents Coordination among institutions responsible for EMP
