9. S CHOOL SUPPLIES Backpack large enough to hold a lunch bag and a big library book Lunch/snack bag Indoor shoes

P REPARING FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL - SEPTEMBER 8 TH, 2015 Over the summer: Walk to school and have a picnic Play in the school yard Find the outside entrance to the kindergarten rooms Establish bedtime routines and morning routines Make up a fun goodbye routine and practise it in other situations before school starts.

F IRST DAY OF SCHOOL Make the first day fun Get up in time to get everything done without rushing Be calm Talk about the fun things (s)he will be doing Take your child to school Make sure your child gets to school on time and is picked up on time The first day of school is a big event in the life of a family, make it a positive one!

12. F IRST D AY OF SCHOOL FOR JK’ S : All JK students will come to school on the first day from 8:15 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Proceed to the back pavement area of the school where you will be directed to your child’s teacher Say your goodbyes! Children will enter the school with their new teacher and class mates at the morning bell Pick up will be at 11:15 a.m. You may enter the school at the office to sign your child out. The following day will be a regular full day from 8:15 a.m. until 2:45 p.m.

A DDITIONAL INFORMATION : Bus Information - See yellow information sheet in WTK bag - Click on the “School Bus Information” link on the York Region website www.yrdsb.cawww.yrdsb.ca - All Kindergarten students will be accompanied by a ‘bus buddy’ Communication bags Your child will receive a clear bag in September. It is to be used as a form of communication between teacher and parents. All items will be sent home in the bag. The bag is to be returned daily.
