3. This is Nyhavn waterfront. Nyhavn was constructed by King Christian V from 1670 to 1673 and is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Copenhagen. H. C. Andersen lived at Nyhavn for some 18 years in four different houses.

5. The Little Mermaid is a bronze statue which is displayed on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade in Copenhagen. It is 1.25 meters tall and was put up in 1913 and has been a major tourist attraction right from the beginning. Of course it is based on the fairy tale of the same name by H. C. Andersen

7. This is the Round Tower. It was built by Christian IV in 1637-1642. The picture below shows the inside of the Round Tower. From 1642 the observatory on the top of the tower has been used for looking upon stars, which makes it the oldest observatory in Europe. 41,55 meter

8. One of the oldest European zoo’s is in Copenhagen. It was started in 1859. Every year, 1,2 millions of people visit the zoo. Every year, more than 65,000 school children visit the Zoo as part of their schooling.

10. Bakken is the oldest funfair park in the world. It opened in 1583. Bakken is placed in a forest 10 km north of Copenhagen. Every year there are 2,5-2,7 million visitors. Entrance to the park is free.

11. Strøget is one of the most popular tourist attractions in central Copenhagen. Strøget is a long shopping street ( 1,1 km)

12. ‘Kongens have’ is a garden. ‘Kongens have’ is the most used park in Copenhagen, especially among young people during summer.

13. Rosenborg palace is a palace that is in front of Kongens have. Here the crown jewels are kept in the basement.

14. In 2013 a new exhibition aquarium opened. The aquarium is the biggest in Northern Europe. 450 different species and 20.000 animals in total. The total volume of the aquarium is 7 mio. liters. The Blue Planet has around 1,1 mio. visitors a year.

15. Experimentarium City is for curious minds of all ages. Once the entrance fee is paid everything inside is for free.

16. Christiania is a sanctuary in Copenhagen. Christiania is the 4th most visited place in Copenhagen

17. Many tourists take the ‘kanalrundfart’ to explore Copenhagen. It last one hour and it only cost around 6-7 euros.

18. Amalienborg is a palace. The queen and the king live in the palace with the prince and princess. When it’s the queen’s birthday thousands of people are coming to celebrate her. When the flag is flying you know that the queen is at home.

19. Christiansborg is the place for the parliament. It was built by Christian VI in 1731-1740. Some times the Queen also receives royal guests at Christiansborg.
