Root Words A word root forms the basic part of a word a gives the word its primary meaning. Examples: see 30-15-10 list

Prefix A prefix is a word part that is added to the beginning of a base word. A prefix changes the meaning of a word. Examples: Extra + Ordinary = Extraordinary Hyper + Active = Hyperactive
