2 Let's talk about MOVEMENT… (of people, goods, and ideas) Why do you suppose Europeans were able to travel throughout Europe and around the world? What land feature seems to be the biggest barrier to movement? The Europeans never had trouble crossing the Alps. Why not? What forms of transportation do you suppose run through the mountain passes and the mountains themselves?

The Rhine, Rhone, and Danube rivers begin in the Alps. Why? What city was built along the Thames River? Can you name some European cities on the seacoast? (minimum 5)
