5. History The first traces of settlement in Ireland come from 80th century BC. The first people on the island were hunters from Europe. They bequeathed neolithic tombs like Newgrange. In the 5th century the island was converted to Christianity by St. Patrick. On 1 January 1801, Ireland and England combined together creating the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

6. Newgrange One of the biggest tombs made by human. Every year during the winter solstice, tourists visit this monument very numerously, wanting to see a spectacular craft of the ancient civilization.

12. Flag of Ireland - Irish Tricolour People supposed that green colour meant Catholics, orange colour meant Protestants and white colour meant a peace between both of them, the other interpretation qualifies orange as a allegiance, green symbolizes republic and white means peace.

13. Saint Patrick – Patron of Ireland Saint Patrick was the bishop and apostle of Ireland, missionary, organizer of religious life in Ireland. When he was 16 years old, he was captured and sold into slavery. His symbol is a green clover.

14. Saint Patrick's Day In Ireland this day is free from work. Every year on 17th March people wear green clothes and organize festivals and street parades. This festival is also celebrated in Poland but it isn’t as cheerful as in Ireland.
