2  A serious infectious disease caused by the Orthopox Virus, Varoila.  Smallpox has been around for centuries.  Disease attacks the blood vessels within the skin. Then compromise Immune System.

3  originated in Africa and then spread to India and China thousands of years ago.  first recorded smallpox epidemic was in 1350 BC.  Last case occurred in 1937.

4  Person to person  Mainly by Aerosolized droplets  Contact with scabs or contaminated clothing  Insects or animals not known to transmit the disease

5  Anyone can get the disease if your in contact with a person who has it.  During first week very contagious.

6  High fever  Tiredness  Body aches  Backache  Vomiting  Normally appear one or two weeks after initial exposure.
