Encoding Bird Data on FDS2 Bird species ID number from Code Key Bird activity code number taken from Code Key Bird location code number taken from Code Key Discovery method code number taken from list on Code Key NOTE: there is currently no facility to encode the number of birds of a given species that were observed in a given situation. This can written in the NOTES section on the front page of the SSRF. Repeated entries for the same species can be made if the discovery is materially different. NOTE: Your bird discovery ‘zone’ extends from the point of departure from the previous SS to the next one including events that occur on the trail between them. Stay focused!
