That each one of you will be graduated from a university by June of 2018. That each one of you is accepted for admission to a university by June of 2014. That each one of you takes as many Advanced Placement and Honors courses as you can reasonably handle. That each of you selects a career that reflects your talents and interests.

Goal setting skills Time management skills Advanced note- taking skills for classes Advanced tutorial skills Advanced binder organization skills Focused note- taking skills on reading Leadership training Community building Focusing on hard work over “smartness”

Curriculum in writing, inquiry, reading, collaboration, and self-regulation skills mentioned earlier.

Students come to class with tutorial sheets filled out. Tutors collect tutorial sheets at door for admission to class. Students engage in advanced tutorial. Students evaluate the tutorial.

The first half of the period is curriculum. The second half is tutorial. On some Thursdays, we visit universities all day.

We learn the AVID curriculum in the first half of the period. We engage in binder checks, notes checks, and agenda planner checks with tutors during the second half. Bring all of your binders to class every Friday. Sometimes we have guest speakers instead.
