Elephants are beaten with bullhooks that can rip and tear their skin leaving bloody wounds Bullhooks- rods that resemble fireplace pokers, with a sharp, metal hook on the end

Elephants are forced into performing painful tricks like standing on their heads. When they do not perform, they are abused!

Elephants are chained for up to 100 hours nonstop. They spend an average of 26 hours traveling between circus shows.

Elephants are taken from their families when they are 18 to 24 months old. A baby elephant who is still nursing is chained to an adult elephant in order to pull it away from its mother. The baby elephant never sees its mother again.

A kid-friendly way to take action against elephants being abused in the circus is to boycott the circus by not purchasing tickets and attending it.
