REDESIGNING OUR PRESENCES Continental Meeting for Asia-Oceania 10-20 September 2009 Morning Prayer

The words of Fr. Alberione 15 September “Total” Prayer Prayer, at every level, must always be life-oriented. That is, it must embrace our whole life; it must bring together all our activities and involve all our faculties. […] Just as blood flows from the heart to all the members of the body, nourishing and enlivening every part of the organism, so too our prayer must make an impact on our apostolate, on our recreations, on our study, on everything we do and on all our relationships, revitalizing everything. The entire person must become holy. When this happens, then our prayer is truly vital, which is to say it is total, complete: it is the whole person who prays and who strives for heaven (Pr Pm 1960).

The Word of God I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer (Rm. 12:1-2, 11-12).

Resonances

Prayer Divine Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, present and active in the Church and in the depths of my soul, I adore you, I thank you, I love you! And through the hands of Mary most holy, my Mother, I offer, give and consecrate myself entirely to you for life and for eternity. To you, heavenly Father, I offer, give and consecrate myself as your daughter. To you, Jesus Master, I offer, give and consecrate myself as your sister and disciple. To you, Holy Spirit, I offer, give and consecrate myself as a “living temple” to be consecrated and sanctified. Mary, Mother of the Church and my Mother, who dwells in the presence of the Blessed Trinity, teach me to live, through the liturgy and the sacraments, in ever more intimate union with the three divine Persons, so that my whole life may be a “glory to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.” Amen.
