Application for Classroom Movies & TV
2
Activity Learning Objective Through the critical review of movie and TV clips, students develop a deeper appreciation and understanding for how the REFLECT competencies undermine or support leader behavior.
3
Activity Description This activity helps students build knowledge and appreciation for the REFLECT competencies. Students review sitcom and dramatic clips from the small and big screen. TV and movie footage provide the raw material that students then use to identify character competency strengths and situations that reflect the REFLECT competency “underdevelopment.” A final paper is the culminating activity.

Students research and write a paper on “Hollywood’s” portrayal of leadership competency.
