IMPORTS An import is any good or service brought into one country from another country in a legitimate fashion, typically for use in trade. Import goods or services are provided to domestic consumers by foreign producers. An import in the receiving country is an export to the sending country. Import of goods normally requires involvement of the Customs authorities in both the country of import and the country of export and is often subject to import quotas, tariffs and trade agreements.

TAJIKISTAN IMPORTS Imports in Tajikistan decreased to 325.20 USD Million in September of 2013 from 353 USD Million in August of 2013. Imports in Tajikistan is reported by the National bank of Tajikistan\Macro indicators. Tajikistan Imports averaged 171.05 USD Million from 2000 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 412.60 USD Million in May of 2013 and a record low of 33.26 USD Million in October of 2001.

Main Import Goods of RT Tajikistan mainly imports: alumina for aluminum production; energy (electricity, natural gas, petroleum and petroleum products); consumer and capital goods, grain and flour.

CUSTOMS AND OTHER IMPORT DUTIES IN TAJIKISTAN Customs and other import duties are all levies collected on goods that are entering the country or services delivered by nonresidents to residents. They include levies imposed for revenue or protection purposes and determined on a specific or ad valorem basis as long as they are restricted to imported goods or services.

Tariffs A tariff is either a tax on imports or exports (an international trade tariff), or a list of prices for such things as rail service, bus routes, and electrical usage (electrical tariff, etc.).The meaning in is now the more common meaning. The meaning in is historically earlier. The meaning in developed from a tabular list of tax rates for different import goods.

Non Tariff Barriers Non-tariff barriers to trade (NTBs) are trade barriers that restrict imports but are not in the usual form of a tariff. Some common examples of NTB's are anti-dumping measures and countervailing, duties which, although called non-tariff barriers, have the effect of tariffs once they are enacted.
