Bulgaria has a unique geographical position. My country is situated in the remote southeast corner of Europe – the Balkan Peninsula. It has been a full member of NATO and the European Union.

Bulgaria occupies a unique and strategically important geographical location. Since ancient times, the country has served as a major crossroads between Europe, Asia and Africa.

It borders five other countries: Romania to the north, Serbia and the Republic of Macedonia to the west, and Greece and Turkey to the south. The Black Sea defines the extent of the country to the east.

Fire-dancers /nestinarstvo/ is one of the most mysterious phenomena in Bulgarian history and folklore and represent folk dancing which is played by young girls on a hot embers barefooted.
