1 Mrs. Nabulsi Read 180 grades 6 and 8

2 Basically our class routine is as follows:  Students sharpen pencils, secure their notebooks and rBooks before the bell.  Students are in their seats which are located in the first center in which they will rotate during class.  We will have an whole group activity: video related to small group, read a book together by projecting the text on the screen; listen to an audio book.  We will then begin the rotations which last approximately 20 minutes. There will be three rotations. Students in small group who finish their work before the others have materials at the desk in the form of math activities, flashcards and books to read. Students are expected to ask permission to leave the room and sign out after granted permission. I discourage using the restroom since that takes time from the rotation and the student has time between classes to take care of personal needs. Of course, there are always exceptions.  At the end of class, I give out Perfect Paws to those students who have behaved well and completed their work.

3  To dissuade classroom disruption, I insist that students stay on target, move from one center to another quietly and respectfully, and remain seated until I dismiss them. I encourage them to represent their country, the military, their school, their family and themselves in a positive and mature manner. I will call you and/or email you the first week of school to make sure I have answered all of your questions regarding this class. I am working on a webpage so that I can better explain concepts like the lexile or answer other questions that might come up. I will give your child both the reading log and the rubric showing how (s)he will be evaluated, but also send both to you via email, and place both on the webpage.
