2 Differences In Spanish, you have to tell whether the word you are saying is singular, plural, masculine, or feminine by the article you use. ◦Examples: El - masculine, singular; Los - masculine, plural; La - feminine, singular; Las - feminine, plural In English, we only say whether the word is singular or plural with the article we use. ◦Examples: A - singular, The - singular or plural

3 Similarities: Both have Latin influence. Both English and Spanish base their sentence structures on tense. ◦Example: Past tense of run: English - ran; Spanish – corrió ◦Example: Present tense of run: English – running; Spanish – corriendo
