So….are you wondering who your Social Studies teacher will be this year?

I was born and raised in Carlisle, Ohio ( a small town between Cincinnati and Dayton) In middle school I played softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, and ran track. In high school I was in National Honor Society and continued playing sports (soccer was always my favorite sport). I graduated from Carlisle High School in 1998. Go CARLISLE INDIANS!

I traveled to Australia and New Zealand in the 11 th grade as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program. (Ask me how you can become a member and travel when you are in high school!) http://peopletopeople.com/

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Education (Social Studies and Language Arts). Favorite classes: 1. Literature in the Middle Grades 2. American History

I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2006. This is my 8 th year teaching here at Carmel. (Something you may not know about me….I used to teach language arts and also taught sixth grade).

My husband’s name is Louie. He is a contractor who helps remodel homes and commercial properties.

My mother is a retired elementary school teacher and my father is a retired chemical engineer. I have an older sister who is a nurse. My sister, Sarah, is married and has two children, Kori and Riley.

Welcome Baby Louie!! Louis Stephen Schratzmeier was born on June 14, 2012. My other child is a four year old dachshund dog named Kasey.
