Are They Ethical?

 If I agree to donate my organs, the hospital staff won't work as hard to save my life ◦ Your doctor works as hard as he can to save your life. He is not even the one in charge of transplants  I'm too old to donate. Nobody would want my organs ◦ There have been successful transplants from people in their 70s and 80s. Transplant eligibility has nothing to do with age, just health.

 Religion ◦ Amish, Gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Shint are all not fond of the idea of organ transplants.  It is illegal in some countries ◦ Organs are being stolen and sold instead of donated

 They can save lives ◦ About 27,720 lives are saved every year because of transplants.  One donor can save up to eight lives and enhance the lives of 50 others ◦ Organ donation gives life and costs nothing.  They costs less than life-long medical care ◦ Transplants are very expensive, but will save the receiver money in the long run.

 There is a lot of fear and confusion. ◦ Lack of education ◦ Media just began publicizing it  What has happened where it is illegal? ◦ Sales of stolen organs ◦ Costs are much higher ◦ Animal organs are sold as human organs.

 Willing donors  Deceased people  Living people  Some infants

Now it is up to you to decide
