INTRODUCTION
4
Background Motorcycles have been the most convenient mean of transportation in Malaysia. It has different ranges of price and quality but yet the main real fact is that motorcycles are not safe. Motorcycle accidents represent 67 % of total accidents in Malaysia. 65 % of the motorcycle accidents happen at night
5
Problem Statement Most of the motorcycle accidents happen at night. This is due to the dim light of the motorcycle signals. Statistics show that for the year 2009, 2728 motorcycle accidents were recorded at night, where 1463 accidents happened during the day.
6
Objective The main objective of this project is to ensure safety on the roads. By providing a new idea for protecting motorcyclists who represent a large group of people in Malaysia and SEA.
7
Project Definition The jacket is equipped with LED lights that are connected to the electrical circuit of the motorbike. The back of the jacket is going to display flash lights when the motorcyclist decides to go right or left. Hence the safety jacket works as a visible alarm for any car driver behind the motorbike. Moreover, the safety jacket is cheap, light in weight with an attractive design that would be suitable for all motorcyclists from any age.

ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGN Software tools Proteus Virtual System Modeling Electronic component - LED Strip Light - Resistor 100 Ω - Blue and Red wire - 1/ 0.5 mm Single Core Wire - Vero Board - Red and Yellow LED
31
ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT DESIGN – PROCEDURE The value of component is calculated for the best efficiency. The schematic diagram of the circuit is drawn. The simulation of the circuit is done in Proteus Virtual System Modeling. The components are assembled on the circuit board based on the schematic diagram drawn. The components are soldered and the component’s leg is cut for finishing.
32
OVERALL JACKET DESIGN – PROCEDURE The light signal circuitry is set up. The clear vinyl fabric is sewn in form of pouch. The light signal circuitry is inserted into the clear vinyl pouch. The motorcycle’s tail lamp prototype is set up as in the schematic diagram. The light signal circuitry is connected to the motorcycle’s tail lamp prototype. The whole system is tested and improvement is done for any fault.

RECOMMENDATION AND CONCLUSION
42
Recommendation Use wireless technology as it is more convenient and user friendly. Use LED strip or any type of LED which can bend to replace the LED board.
43
Conclusion The project are done and are proven working. Some changes have been done from the initial planning for better result. For economical consideration, this project only cost RM 116.10 and the production cost is only RM 99.50. We plan to sell it for RM250; depends on the quality of jacket. This prototype is ready to be used for motorcyclist.
