2 Biography Full name: Charles John Huffam Dickens Date of birth: Friday, February 7 th, 1812 Place of birth: No. 1 Mile End Terrace, Landport, Portsmouth England.

3 Biography Parents: Father: John Dickens (1785-1851) Mother: Elizabeth Dickens (1789-1863) Marriage: Catherine (Hogarth) (1815-1879). They got married on April 2 nd 1836. They separated in 1858. Children: Charles Dickens had 10 children. He had 7 boys and 3 girls. Died: Thursday, June 9 th, 1870. Charles Dickens died from a stroke.

4 Life Dad was put in prison When dad was put in prison Charles was forced to leave school to work at a boot-blackening factory. Earned 6 shillings a week. Felt abandoned and betrayed by people that were supposed to take of him.
