5 Shopping & Banking Online in Canada In 2009, 50% of Canadian home internet users reported purchasing goods and services online and 67% used the Internet for banking or online bill payment (world leaders) In 2009, Canadians purchased $15.1 billion of goods and services from the Internet (up from $12.8 billion in 2007) Most common goods purchased online: airline tickets, concert tickets, books, magazines, music, clothing, jewellery

6 Security Concerns Decline with Internet Use In 2009, Canadians who had used the Internet for 5 years or more were less likely to be concerned about online security than those with fewer years experience. Security concerns, such as online use of credit cards, continue to remain amongst consumers
